Fisherman's Prayer

Ben comes from a long line of fishermen. He loves to cast his line wherever we will let him. A few weeks ago, we went to Fort Mountain State Park and he was able to throw his line in the water. He stood on the shore for close to 45 minutes, simply casting and reeling. When we were done, he said, "Mom, maybe next time I can use a new pole and catch something." This Sunday he will get to fish in the annual 4th of July church fishing tournament. Maybe he will be able to catch a fish!

Rough Life

It is too hot outside in the afternoons to take the kids out. So, we go out in the mornings for a couple of hours and the kids play in their pirate pool, or the sprinkler. Yesterday must have been exhausting because Faith fell asleep in her high chair before her lunch was all gone. I had to pry the fork out of her hand before laying her down.

Sprinklers are such fun!

We played in the sprinkler this morning and it always amazes me how the swords end up as part of the fun...

Didn't realize while I was taking the pics that Ben looked like he was about to take out Faith in almost every shot.

He did hit in her in the head once. It was one of those where he didn't mean to, Faith didn't cry and I was laughing so hard at her dazed look that I couldn't take the picture or discipline Ben.

Shortly after this we moved the sprinkler to spray the swing set so the slide would cool enough for them to play. I stood a the bottom and caught Faith, just barely, as she shot off the last hump with incredible speed. Maybe the water on the slide is not a good idea until they weigh enough to slow themselves down a bit!

Family

I recently found out I have a half sister. She has two daughters, Taylor and Dakota. On Saturday we had a get together for the first time. It was quite fun! Dakota is 13 days younger than Faith and they had fun fighting over my mom. Aren't they sweet?

Indiana Faith

This little one is a mess. She found the hat and whip in the toy box at my sister's and played all week with it! Faith has been slow in talking, but she can say hat. The "t" is almost silent so you have to watch her mouth to know she is pronouncing it, or mouthing it I guess. She does the same thing with the letter "p".

Water Babies

Ben and Faith swam in a friend's pool over the weekend. Ben stayed on the steps and kicked most of the time, but Faith was a little more adventurous. She loves the water and kept trying to jump in.
She had fun kicking in the water with Aunt Ally.
It took some time to convince Ben to get in the water and kick. He had fun for about 2 minutes and then was done!
He had more fun shooting water in Logan's face. Logan had fun shooting Ben in the face, too.
It was great fun!
